This site is a collection of food-themed protest posters. I started to notice them on January 29, at a protest against Trump's travel ban in Battery Park, NYC.
Some of these signs seem to be playing with ideas about cultural imperialism --"Yemen Invented Coffee"--while others are using food to mock the president's appearance--impeach the peach. In still others, the sign maker just seems to enjoy playing with their food words. Dick & taters is a good example of that one.
I think there is a lot going on here, where language and frustration meet humor and power.
The site welcomes contributions of images. As the images collect, I'll invite interpretive pieces, too.
